My Blush Collection...

Firstly, I am sorry that this might be a bit of a long post but I wanted to do my top three blushes and then when I got all my blushes out I didn't realise how many I had.

I have been asked in the past what make up product do I like the most and I didn't really know how to answer that as I didn't think I had a favourite but looking at
the picture above it would seem that I have my answer!

Anyway on to the good bit....grab a cuppa and settle in for the swatches and thoughts!

First off we have the Sleek palette ( I do love a bit of Sleek)

I do love all these colours and they are very pigmented.
The middle colour is lovely for the summer as it has a shimmer running through it.
I apply all these with a big fluffy brush on the apple of my cheek and upwards and back.

I also love the packaging as it has a good mirror and looks more expensive then it really was.

Next we have the MUA and NYC

The MUA is one of my favourite everyday blushes and it is suited to my
skin tone and gives a very natural flush. As you can see the NYC one it is not very suited for my skin tone as it can be a bit light but on the cheeks for a barely there look it is lovely.

Moving on to NYX, GOSH & Bourjois

My favourite of these will have to be the GOSH one, it is such a pretty pink and
great for a summer flush. The other two I don't really use that much but the NYX one is a lovely texture and I find it very easy to apply.

Onto the cream blushes...

Not really been into cream blushes before but I am loving them in the hotter weather.
The Revolution one is fab and you only need a tiny bit to give a good colour and also the bottle reminds me a little of the Daniel Sandler Watercolour blushes.

The Benefit one I was not so keen on to be honest, it's a bit of a not
really there colour and I find it a bit of a fuss to apply.

 Revolution Baked Blush

I love the Revolution line of make up as it is really cheap and great quality. The baked blush is really pretty in the pan and even better of the cheeks but it does have quite a lot of shimmer in it. I also use this on my eyes too :)

MAC (my only one!)

I bought this on a whim and I love it. I am fond of a bit of MAC and I treated myself to this one a few months ago and it is a great colour for me, giving me a very natural pretty flush of colour. I usually apply this with a contour brush from real techiques as it is smaller and easier to apply to the apples of the cheeks.

And last but not least Hourglass..

Now I am really sorry as this photo does not show just how pretty this is. It is almost like a blush and highlighter in one and this was a real Essie Button effect (if you don't read her blog or watch her or youtube, you should check her out)

She wear this a lot and it looks lovely on her, giving a real glow
and flush to the cheeks. I love this and wear it all the time :)

So sorry this was so long and congrats if you made it this far without getting bored but that is my blush collection (I am sure it will be bigger soon as I have my eye on some new ones!)

What's your favourite blush?

Photo taken by Jake Arditti @JakeArditti

So Sunday turned up and it was time for the Lily and Anna picnic in London.
We caught the 9am coach to London from Portsmouth and it took around two hours to get to London (great time to catch up on reading and shows that I am watching)

I fully charged up the phone ready for a day of Instagram and photo taking but of course when I had put my phone away at the start of the trip I had started up Candy Crush by accident so the phone was nearly dead when I got to London (could only happen to me)

Anyway we walked through Hyde Park to Marble Arch and the start of Oxford Street
Didn't really know that most of the shops don't really open to a lot later on a Sunday in London, so we shot past most of them and went to Selfridges for lunch as we love
The Brass Rail and the salt beef sandwiches (yum)

So after a little look around Selfridges (rude not too) we made our way to the picnic, we arrived at the park and I just felt really weird about it all, as there we a lot of people all sitting around Lily and Anna, so we sat on a bench for a while and just took it all in.
We (my husband was with me) then thought that a bit of dutch courage might help so we popped into a local pub for a glass of wine :)

We then made our way back to the meet up and put down out blanket and just watched what was going on, now to be fair I felt really old here. I mean I am only 34 but most of the girls here were under 18, so other then the parents of the girls, I felt old!

When we got to the park there was already a queue forming to meet the girls and get photo's, I didn't want to join the queue but seeing it get longer and longer I thought I should.

It was kinda nice in the queue as you got to talk to other girls there and people just walking through the park kept coming up to us to ask what was going on and why such a queue, at which point my husband thought it was funny to make things up,
such as 'free stuff' or a 'queue protest' which did make me laugh.

Only thing was it was really hot and we stood in the there for a good two hours, watching Lily and Anna taking photo's and chatting to everyone. Also nice to see their families there too and how they were with them. But it was a long time and this was done to the two ladies being so damn nice! They didn't want to rush anyone on and we really nice about it all but also there of course we people that maybe took up a little too much time and also other people that wanted to know what was going on so decided to ask Lily and Anna and then have a chat with them, all the while we are in a queue in the heat so it wasn't ideal
(maybe I am just old!)

So finally it was my turn and I felt really shy but they were great, I said that I felt old and Lily said don't be silly and asked me what I did for a living and we spoke about the salt beef sandwiches and what we have with them, so it was nice to have a little two minute chat.

Then came the photo, I asked my husband to take the photo
( I will just put it here and then explain!)

Yes I have my eyes closed and yes I have a silly look on my face :(

I feel so silly as I should have reminded Rob that I am prone to closing my eyes on photo's. On our wedding day they had to take twice as many as in most I did have my eyes closed.

So I waiting two hours for that photo for this blog and that is what I got! *sigh*
(the ladies look great though)

After this we then went for an early dinner before the trip home and we ending up in
Thai place called Mango Tree and the food was lovely :)

So to sum it all up, it was a long day but a good one. I loved meeting Anna and Lily and they are just as lovely in real life as on screen and blogs. They made everyone feel welcome and must have stayed a lot longer then the 3pm they has said but I think that I would think about it more if I was to go again.
Maybe as I make new blogging friends it might make these things a bit easier as it would have been nice to meet a few people that I follow and talk to as well but there you go, that was my day in London.
Also have a few haul posts to write now too (whoops!)

Taken as we were nearly home :)

Argan Oil

So I was in Tesco on Thursday doing the normal weekly shop and I came across
the Argan Oil Hair Treatment Oil at a £1 and I thought, why not?

I was also in a local pound shop on Sunday and came across the Argan Oil Hair Mask.

The oil treatment is for use on damp washed hair and then you can
blow dry and the hair mask is...well a hair mask.

I tried the oil on Friday night and it did make my hair feel lovely
and was shiny after using it.

I then tried the mask on Sunday night, you use this after washing your
hair and leave it on for 5-7 minutes and then wash off.
Now this smells lovely left my hair feeling very soft and smooth.

So overall for a £1 each I would give these ago.
Anyone else tried these?

Favourite Thing Thursday..

So it is week two of my fave thing in the week and this time it goes to......
(drum roll please!)

Now I know these are or have been all the rage but I have only just picked one up and I got mine from The Range for under £2. I am a big water drinker, more so at work then at home (this pic was taken at work) and I usually drink out of a bottle but I needed a new one and couldn't seem to find anything that I liked. I had come across these cups before and thought I would hate the straw as it is hard plastic but I was really surprised as I love it, so much so that it is my fave thing this Thursday.

I drink so much more water with the straw and even though I was good at my water in take it has gone up a lot (mind you so has my need for the loo...)

So pop out and get one and get drinking that water :)

(runs off to the loo.....again!)

My Reviews :)

So a week or so ago I had a bit of a splurge in Boots and I had a couple of
things that I wanted to update you on.

First off is the Maybelline Super Stay 7 days nail polish. Now I love this (a lot!) it is really easy to apply and two coats gives a great colour. It has a big brush so the application is easier, which is great for me as I am not great at it!

Now the thing that really impressed me is the staying power of this polish.
I am the sort of person that is not delicate with my hands, I wash up without
gloves and sometime at work I have to be a bit hands on and usually my nail
polish is lucky to last two days without chipping but as you can
see from the photo this was fantastic.
This was taken after I had the polish on for 6 days.

The other thing that I wanted to mention is the Benefit Bad Girl Lash.

I am a lover of the They're Real and I didn't really know much about the Bad Girl one.

I tried this on Friday night and I love much.
It has a huge brush and applies so well and give me a real natural look to my lashes,
no clumping and it stayed on all night, so I will be buying this one again :)
