Favourite Thing Thursday - Part 6

So here we are again and the winner this week is

hair mask

I did a bit of a blog post on this a while ago, which can be found here

The reason why this has become my favourite this week is because
I went into work the other day after going swimming in the morning and
one of the people that I work with said to me
'oh have you been swimming this morning'

I felt all impressed with myself thinking that she was going to say I had that smug
'I have done my exercise today' look on my face
but no my bubble was burst when she said 'just your hair looks dry'

I had already been using the hair mask on a Sunday night and that is lovely,
makes my hair feel so thick the next day and nourished,
but hadn't really done much with the oil.

So I took it with me the next time I went swimming and used it before
blow drying and it has made so much of a difference to me.

I take just a few drops and work it into my wet hair and then blow dry.
Careful not to use too much as it can make your hair look greasy.

Doesn't make the ends of my hair feel or look so dry and
as I have found makes my hair feel even better the next day.

Since I have started using it a few weeks ago I haven't had
any more comments from colleagues either

Have you tried these yet?

Favourite Thing Thursday - Part 5

Wow so we are onto week five of my favourite thing Thursday and today the winner is

The bad Girl Lash from Benefit. I got this as a part of a set (you can read the haul here)

I didn't expect to like this to be honest but it is fantastic and really gives great length and also holds the curl in my lashes.

Nothing on my lashes

One Coat

Two Coats

I would only usually use one coat but wanted you to see how it can look...

So do you use this? If so what do you think?

HEMA Beauty Haul

Website here

So I have never heard of HEMA before. I was in London for the day and as we took the coach (so much cheaper than the train) we popped into the Victoria Place Shopping Centre as we were a little early for our coach. We spotted this shop as it looks very much like the shops call Tiger. It has a bit of everything from cooking bits to kitchen and home stuff along with a huge beauty section (woot!)

So with true blogger excuses already told in my mind I strolled over and took a look and this is what I bought...

This was the first thing that I was drawn to (being a magpie and all) and I can say that is it fab. Costing only £4.25 it is well worth it. I have worn this all over the lid, as an eyeliner and also just lightly over normal eye shadow and it is great every way I have tried it and also long lasting..

Next was the lip section

I went for this one as although the colour (number 8) looks like it would be really dark it was not. This cost £2.50 but I have to say that I don't really like it. It's not that long lasting and the colour was too sheer for me.

I did browse the blusher section but having just bought a load from Superdrug I stayed clear. So I went onto my next love which is nail polish :)

Nail polish

Usually nail polish struggles to stay on me un chipped as I don't really take too much care with my hands (as in washing up with gloves and that kind of thing) but this one is I think the best that I have, this picture was taken three days after I put the colour on and as you can see there is hardly any chipping and it has a lovely big brush and took just two coats.

A great product at only £2.50 it was a bargin and I will be going back for more.

I also bought a clear eyebrow gel and a eye shadow brush,
both are also great and cost £4.50 and £3.00

Then as I was about to go and pay this caught my eye

This is a hydrating serum for all skin types. I didn't have a serum in my skincare stash so I thought I would pick one up. I have been using it for the last few weeks and I love it. It has made my skin feel so soft and the smell of this is lovely. The also had a load of other skincare bits that I will be giving a try when we go back to London in September.

(sorry for the nail polish in this photo!)

Only thing that is a little annoying is that they don't seem to sell online :(

But over all a great find and worth checking out!

Bloggers Weekend Away....

So myself and my husband (Rob) decided to get away for a night and decided on
Weymouth, we live about two hours away so it was a good distance
without being too far for just one night.

So we started the weekend with a lovely big cooked breakfast in one of our
favourite cafe in our home town

Cooked breakfast

We don't do this very often but it is well worth breaking the diet for sometimes :)

We then set off on the two hour journey and our first stop would be the
Weymouth Sea life Centre

After the sea life centre we went for a walk into the town centre and the harbour
and also the sea front

The harbour was very pretty and loaded with pubs, places to eat
and also some lovely little shops.
On the beach it was the usual candy floss and people, with the added donkey :)

We stopped off for a cream tea late in the afternoon at a place called Suttons and I have to say it was bloody lovely and one of the best scones that I have ever had...

Then after a shower and change we headed back to the harbour for dinner and found a place called Vaughan's here

We had a fantastic dinner which included a lot of fish...(oh and a lovely pud too!)

After all that food we took a stroll along the harbour side and back to our B&B

The next morning we set off on a little trip to the Bovington Tank Museum

Now this won't be everyone's cup of tea but I like tanks and the history and Rob is keen on them also so we decided to take a look and it was a great day out, for a small price it took us around 3 hours to get round it all and was well worth the money

And of course me in a tank......

We then made our way back home via Wagamama for some more yummy food.....

So that was my weekend.....hope you all had a good one too and do you
have any suggestions on our next trip.....although we are planning Brighton
at the start of September and then London at the end of September :)

Favourite Thing Thursday - Part 4

Okay so here we are again at another Thursday and another of my favourite
things of the week. Wow this year is going so quickly!

So this week it is not a thing but a person, well to tell the truth it is a blog :)

Blog can be found here

I only started blogging about six weeks ago and Brenda's blog was one
of the first that I came across that hadn't started too long before me.

I love reading her blog and love the fact that it is about all the things in life from
beauty to family and everything else.
I feel that it is very well written and I love her topics and photo's.

After my own blog it is the second thing I check in my lunch hour :)

So a big shout out to you Brenda and keep up the great work and thanks
for all the comments on my blog :)
